Round Rock High School Additions
Round Rock Independent School District
375,000 sq. ft.
The structural scope of work included a major high school addition. This addition included two large classroom wings and two large volume / long span spaces, the commons, and the library. The roof framing over the long span / large volume spaces consisted of custom designed parallel chord glu-lam trusses with perpendicular glu-lam purlins with 2X tongue and groove wood decking. The first floor is slab-on-grade with grade beams and piers. The lateral system for the building is a combination of concentric steel braced frames and cmu shear walls.
